I am the father of a fifteen-year-old! Good grief!! Happy birthday Joe!
Thanks to Meg and Paul for their hospitality, burgers, beans, potato salad, and brownies.
Thanks to Roxanne and Michael for saying hi and bringing their children over as well.
Thanks to Doc for the kind words in my exit interview.
Thanks to everybody who ever wrote me at dillonl@ocps.net - it appears the account is defunct. Once I am sure it is dead, I will email everyone I can remember or think of and encourage the use of either the calvindillon@earthlink.net or calvindillon@gmail.com accounts. I promise to heck each of those every day.
I will give the peeps count this evening, after working in the warehouse and travelling to go get a teenager at McDonalds and having Joe's birthday dinner.
Joe and I had a grand time at Metropolitan Ministries working in the food bank and eating in their cafeteria.
Then we saw the stupidest awful movie in the universe -- Anchorman. Wow. I had some VERY guilty laughs, and I love stupid movies -- Airplane for instance -- but this was REALLY stupid.
We went to Smoky Bones for dinner (yum) and had a Cookie Puss cake for dessert. (yum)

Oh well. So much for the whole consecutive posts thing.
Tuesday, Joe and I went down to Metropolitan Ministries and signed up for community service -- we are going to pack food boxes in a very warm warehouse with a nice guy naed Eddie.
Yesterday, we went to Adventure Island with my lovely sister-in-law and had much fun tubing and sliding and swimming and jumping. My lovely wife didn't quite get teh wave pool --"Why would anybody pay to come do something they can do at the beach for free?" -- but the kids liked it. Everyone had a great time, got a little toasted in the sun, and enjoyed Capri Sun, frozen cappuchino and soggy pretzel sticks.
That evening we played the game of Life: the Star Wars Edition (The Jedi Path). It wasn't bad -- you make decisions, build a light saber, go on missions, and accumulate skills that make you a stronger Jedi able to pass the trials. Also, there are shortcuts you can take along your journey, but you must take a Dark Side token for choosing the "quick and easy path." All in all it wasn't a bad game, though the spinner didn't quite work, and it was hard to decipher the instructions for the final trial.
Today I try again to have my final phone call for my Internship, I go teach SAT for the penultimate time in Orlando, and we go to Meg's house for a poolside cookout.
Seven peeps. Yummy Chinese food Fu. Fun at water park Fu. Fun playing Star Wars game Fu.

Helped Dr. Dillon write the sample items for an ACT PLAN unit today -- maybe I could get a second job working for them -- I have the process pretty much down cold now.
Watched BBC America this morning -- visited with Trinny and Susannah on "What Not Wear," Linda, Anna and the Phils on "House Invaders and David on "Bargain Hunt".
I feel like I need to go wrestle a yak or something to validate my manliness.
Anyway, hope everyone has a great day after the noisy holiday.
Here is a little slice of Darwin Awards absurdity to get your day off on the right foot:
"A boy, an elephant, and a Spider-man 2 videogame"
Seven peeps. VOerwhelmed with British humor (Lynn Truss' book on grammar and BBC America) Fu. Yummy ham sandwich prepared by my lovely daughter Fu. Trying to set a record for consecutive posts Fu.

Happy Self-Actualization for the the fledgling United States Day!
Most people are aware that we celebrate this day because it is the day Congress adopted Jefferson's Declaration of Independence, most people do not know that the document was not completely signed until August of that year.
It wasn't until Christmas Day of 1896 that John Philip Sousa wrote the "Stars and Stripes Forever".
The best clearninghouse of information about the Fourth is http://gurukul.american.edu/heintze/fourth.htm, (dude, spend the ten bucks and buy a domain name...) according to this Washington Post article.
Here's what's going on in my neck of the woods today - http://www.digitalcity.com/tampabay/ - jope you guys are having fun today as well!
