Well, still nothing yet -- we got some gusts and some rain bands, but nothing substantial -- we will probably bear the brunt of things tomorrow -- but as for right now things are quite calm -- hope those in Orlando are faring as well as we are so far.

Well, I have cleaned everything in the apartment that I am allowed to touch, so I guess I should get to work and start keying in grades for progress reports and take the dog outside before Frances comes.
Here is a picture of how things look today at 10:30 am:

They are already getting tropical storm force winds in Melbourne and tons of rain -- that is the part I am really not looking forward to.
Watched a couple of flicks yesterday -- was very lazy. Saw "Masterminds with Vincent Kartheiser (Conor from "Angel") and Patrick Stewart as the heavy. IT wasn't horrible for a Disney - Channelesque Saturday afternoon flick. Also watched the end of "Sniper 2" with Tom Berenger and "Basic" with Samuel L. Jackson and Travolta. All were suitably lame -- hopefully there will be something with more promise showing today. Maybe I can talk my lovely wife into renting "Hellboy"! Doubtful, unless I commit to something like a "Steel Magnolias" marathon. (just kidding -- she is a very good sport when it comes to watching guy flicks).
Saw a kid Thursday with a "Revenge of the Sith" t-shirt ans wowed him with my extensive Star Wars knowledge -- I love it when they think that they have cornered the market on geekosity.
Good luck to everyone with the storm and everything. We have our supersized bag of Tostitos and I just put another 12 pack of Diet Barq's root beer in the fridge -- so we will be okay.
Six peeps (still sniffly). Good luck to mom with the tests Fu. Procrastinating must end eventually Fu. Frances better turn somewhere else Fu.

Well, here we go again! Classes are cancelled today, and we are awaiting the onslaught of another storm. Hopefully this will prove to be as uneventful as the previous meteorological event for us, as well as bypass Orlando this time.
For those of you who want really good coverage of the Tampa area -- the best site for that is http://baynews9.com. They update frequently and their hurricane information comes from the National Hurricane Center.
Progress reports go out for Hillsborough County students on Wednesday the 8th!! I can't believe we are halfway through the nine weeks already.
Yesterday, I took the place of an AP who was off campus -- I got to hold a radio and patrol the hallways. It was fun telling that many kids what to do!
We are headed out to the Post Office and to make a final run to the grocery store. It is hard to know what best to get -- especially since we still have 36 hours before the thing makes landfall.
I am glad we have a long weekend this weekend anyway -- I needed the break. Colds are no fun, and I have had this one since last Sunday. I am almost well now, but resting for a few will be nice.
Five peeps. Tired of being sick but grateful for Echinacea and my lovely wife Fu. Getting observed for the first time in three years Fu. Another teacher telling my lovely wife that I am "highly thought of" at Gaither while we were waiting for our Tijuana Flats food Fu. Talking to my little brother last night -- thanks for checking in -- Fu.
