This has been quite a busy week -- I am glad it is almost over.
I was asked today if I would relinquish my room to a new teacher who took over for someone who left before the nine weeks was up. The new teacher is a little isolated, and taking my room would put her in more of a collegial atmosphere.
I of course said yes, but the deal is sweeter because the room is bigger and it has TEN computers in it!!! (I am buddies with the TC, so I hope I can talk him into letting me use them).
Cool site:
Ducktapeclub -- the name says it all.
Cool Movie quote:
"The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin', Ringo. I'm tryin' real hard to be a shepherd. "
The previous quote was from "Better Off Dead" a classic comedic look at teen suicide and the international language as practiced by putting his tes-- I mean tentacles, all over the foreign exchange student.
Six peeps. Bigger room Fu. Almost done painting Fu.

Mowed the grass yesterday. We have a lot of grass. A plethora of grass. A surfeit of grass. A superabundance of grass.
Cool site The history of zippers and velcro
Random movie quote
"I want my two dollars."
Sunday's quote was from Superman, in honor of Christopher Reeve's passing. IT was of course, Lex Luthor speaking.
Six peeps. Lots of grass Fu. Club day at Gaither Fu.

Did the temple thing today -- drove to Orlando and taught from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm and then made the trek back on I-4, with the wind at my back and cold BK onion rings in my belly.
Tonight I reorganized the garage (somewhat) and watched a couple of episodes of Sex and the City that we missed on HBO -- our real shows like Carnivale and Six Feet Under don't resume for quite some time. Right now, Larry King is rerunning an interview with Christopher Reeve -- he looks much different -- this must have been shortly after the accident -- (it was -- 1998)-- he does not have a breathing tube and he can move his head quite a bit. He is still just as strong and inspiring to me as he was that day in 1978 when I came to believe a man could fly. I don't know how many times I watched the film -- I nearly wore out the videotape. I still think it is one of the most underrated Comics2Film of all time. I enjoyed watching Margot Kidder on Smallville the other night -- now I am just waiting for a Ned Beatty or Gene Hackman cameo. :)
Hope everyone had a great weekend -- mine was waaaaaay too short.
Cool site of the day How do they make Lego blocks?
Random Movie Quote
"Some people can read War and Peace and come away thinking it's a simple adventure story. Others can read the ingredients on a chewing gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe."
Yesterday's quote: Tom Hanks in "A League of Their Own"
