I am currently waiting for the teaser trailer to download -- Hyperspace members can view the Episode III teaser trailer tonight -- it started this afternoon but I forgot to logon to look at it.

I heard that it was being show on TV tonight too, but I didn't see it.
There is now also a preview of the Episode III videogame on the Hyperspace site. It looks much more fun than Knights of the Old Republic.

Okay -- it is done downloading -- I will have my review when it is done.

They picked the right way to start it off -- Alec Guiness explaining things to Luke with flashbacks to clones trooping up into personnel carriers and clips of Anakin flying the speeder bike.

Then it cut to the volcano planet with weird crawling droids, awesome scenes of Kashyyk (the wookie planet) and a little of the battle between Anakin and Obi-Wan.

The best part was the command from Sidious for Vader to rise and then he replies -- Yes, master -- Looks also like Yoda will kick more but this time too.

Today was a good day!

Everyone will be able to view the trailer on the 8th. Until then, just wish you were me!

Well, I guess Kerry did the right thing. Rather than go the Gore route of contentious litigation, he gracefully bowed out and conceded Ohio right before lunch.

Four more years. Oh brother.

This is the latest I have been up in a while; my lovely wife and I have our first houseguest -- a lovely media specialist from Orlando named Vickie who is in town for the FAME conference.

Hope everyone had a nice humpday. I am off to lala land.

Well, for the second time in two presidential elections, there is no winner on election night.

As it stood this morning, New Mexico, Iowa, and Ohio are still in play, and Bush has 254 electoral votes to kerry's 252. The only state that really matters is Ohio, because it has 20 votes to give to the victor. Bush leads all three states by a VERY narrow margin, so it definitely looks like he will only win by the skin of his teeth. Again. We won't know for several more days, because provisional and absentee ballots need to be counted. I hope the process is nto as contentious as it was in 2000, but at least Florida didn't screw things up.

If only FLorida had gone to Kerry -- then this fiasco would be over pretty much. Although, if Bush one the other three, he would still win -- right? Oh well. Any state that would have such a close race between a hate-mongering Republican lapdog and a champion of education issues can't really be counted upon to turn blue when it really matters.

Most of the folks I voted for got elected, mostly because I crossed party lines in several local races. THe three most important -- senator, representative, and president, don't look good for the blue team, but such is life. I am very glad that most of the races have been so close -- that should demonstrate to everyone that there is no mandate for this administration and their policies.

I just hope that if W. is reelected that he sees that the people want their sons, daughters, friends, brothers, sisters, mommies and daddies to come home and be safe.

Random movie quote: Annie Potts in Pretty in Pink, talking about a kiss from John Cryer.

"She's great. She's really exotic! She's a princess! She's Polynesian--well, half Polynesian, and half American. She's... Amnesian."

Seven peeps. Highly complimentary remarks from students Fu. Frustration over lack of decision at the polls Fu.

Finished the Watchmen last night. Nothing like avoiding grading by reading a horribly depressing graphic novel.

Hurm.

Random movie quote

"I mean, I'm old enough to be his mother, but when the Duck laid that kiss on me last night, I swear to God, my thighs just went up in flames! He must practice on melons or something."

Last quote:

Ben Affleck in "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" -- one of those movies you are ashamed to admit you enjoyed.

Too early for a Peep count. Too much leftover Halloween candy Fu. Time to hit the bricks and get to school so I can pretend to be productive Fu.

Well, my lovely wife and I beat the November rush and voted yesterday. Florida adopted early voting this year to avoid the snafus from the last election, so all we had to do was go to the supervisor of elections office and take a number. When we got there, we got the numbers 713 and 714. When we looked at the board that announced who was being served, we saw that they were on 347. I went back to the house and got papers to grade and a book for her to read, and we waited another hour. At that point, since they had only made it to about 460, we decided to go shopping and take our chances upon coming back.

After a wonderful jaunt to the mall and Target, we pulled into the parking lot and entered the building, where we noticed they had just called number 715. We rushed to the door and the poll volunteer said, "You must have been waiting outside, hmmmm?"

Little did he know that had there been a Dunkin' Donuts on the way, we would have stopped for an Iced Latte and not made it. Thank goodness for inconvenient fast food locations.

We watched "School of Rock" last night with Liz and Fran. It was just exactly as good as I thought it would be. Linklater and Jack Black saved it from the saccharine sweetness that killed comedic possibilities of movies like "Daddy Day Care," and infused it with enough energy and originality that it evoked movies like Mr. Mom and Revenge of the Nerds. I highly recommend "School of Rock" -- any movie with a bunch of ten year olds watching Jack Black bang his head to the "Immigrant Song" in a beat-up band van and has a character look out his window past a Fugazi sticker is okay in my book.

Random Movie Quote:

Richard Dreyfuss as Roy in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" -- playing with his potatoes at the dinner table, shaping them into the Devil's Tower in Wyoming and totally freaking out his whole family.

"I'm not saying that I don't think that a Bluntman and Chronic film isn't the worst idea since Greedo shooting first."

Six peeps. Way too much grading to do and little motivation to do it Fu. Getting on the road to Gainesville now Fu.
