Almost Done!
We had our department luncheon Wednesday, (smoked turkey, crab dip, cheese cake, homemade salsa, spinach and artichoke dip, pasta salad, Cindy's "homemade" potato salad, Mint M&Ms, Entenmann's cookies, chocolate cake, homemade pumpkin pie, yummmy) and I have been relieving teachers who are giving exams -- I don't have a second or third period, so I have nothing else to do. I am working also on my philosphy of education -- which will go on the back of my administrative screening application. That and eating too many mint flavored M&Ms. Yum.
I am very much enjoying the cooler temperatures Wednesday -- it was in the 30s that morning!
Thursday was nice as well -- my writing students wrote the entire period -- and these are kids who HATED to write when the class started.
We had scrambled eggs, tater tots and waffles last night for dinner. Mmmmmm. Syrup.
Went to bed much earlier last night as well, and I feel much more rested.
Today are my final two exams, a short trip to the certification center to turn in some paperwork, and a jaunt up to Gainesburg to retrieve my lovely daughter.
If you have not already, you really must see the virus and subsequent animal StrongBad emails -- they rock.
Have a Smurfy weekend and don't get too stressed about the shopping you still have left to do and which I have finished because I am so awesomely cool. Now if I can just find someone to wrap everything for me...

I think I am finished Christmas shopping -- and we are barely into the double digit dates of December! This is unprecedented!
I did a lot of online shopping for everyone except my lovely wife, for whom I went shopping in real stores with CASH from SAT today -- the checkout person at one of the stores said, "Boy - cash -- haven't seen much of that lately!" Scary.
I have my first period exam tomorrow -- followed by the wonderfully brief 35 minute good periods for the rest of the classes.
I was a little disappointed with the excitement level of the kids over the whole PowerPoint thing -- I am more used to kids not being so blase when they make something neato. Oh well -- I can just lead them to the digital trough, I can't make them drink deep from the electric blue fount of photons, 1's and 0's.
It was nice today to flip through old CDs kids had made and see some familiar names -- Ruthie, Sheriffe, Michael R., Jessica H.
12 shopping days to go until Xmas! (For those of you procrastinators out there.)
