Merry Chrismahannukwaanzakah!
Hope everyone had a pleasant time visiting with family. We had a nice quiet day with the dogs and the Gudes here in Tampa. I was NOT the first one up, and I patiently assisted the elves in the distribution of the gifts, which included several surprises from my lovely wife and her family.
I did actually get to speak to the rest of the family in one phone call this time (it usually takes a minimum of four to track everyone down). It sounds like everyone had the traditional holiday experience.
For those who have yet to receive a gift or a card from us, be patient -- the Dillons down here see Chrismahannukwaanzakah as an extended celebration that will last long into the next two or three days.
My haul was excellent as usual -- I go the transSiberian Orchestra Christmas Trilogy as well as an "Ask Yoda" doll, a book about the Sandman, Droids and Ewoks cartoons, and a lovely home theatre system from my lovlier wife (to whom I gave several presents which were enjoyed by all -- yo go, J-Dillo).
Hope everyone gets where they're going tonight safely -- be careful out there.

Today we had a visitor (two actually). Walking down the street at about 1:07pm we saw two large Grus canadensis pratensis, or Florida Sandhill Cranes.
Obi was quite taken with them, as you can see by clicking on the picture below:
Happy no shopping days left!

I am all done with my Christmas shopping, and I have seen three of the four movies I got from Blockbuster (I am seriously thinking about joining their club -- unlimited rentals for $25 a month -- just not sure I would get my money's worth during the week).
Saw Chronicles of Riddick and Van Helsing (both on my "way-too-guy-kinda-movies-that-I-will-never-watch-with-mmy-lovely-wife" list). They were okay -- Riddick was gorgeous and I liked the sympathetic Frankenstein monster. Too bad each of them substituted eyepopping CGI for actual writing and acting. Much better was "Big Fish," which I watched wiht my lovely wife this evening. Ewan was campy great as usual, and Billy Crudup was very subdued as the nebbishy son. I thought "Secondhand Lions" did the same thing a little bit better, with more class (and this is coming from a serious Tim Burton fan). Tomorrow is "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" - I will let you know what the consensus is on that one tomorrow evening.
Hope everyone is enjoying life away from school.
Happy one day of shopping left.
