Two things -- first of all:

STAR WARS M&M'S!!!

We have devoured our first bag of the M-Pire Dark Chococlate M&M'S!!! Yummmy!
We went into Target to get Easter candy, and there they were on the end-cap! They were deliciously wonderful -- and the bags are very cute. There is still nothing on the official site for M&M's, but I expect they will have something next weekend. So far, I have gotten Star Wars Cheezits and M&M's. My lovely wife is getting worried that this rollout will involve major capital outlay, but I am trying to reassure her that this will not be the case.

And now for something completely different:

Hitchcock Cameos

We were watching Hitchcock's The Birds , and when it was over folks were wondering when Hitch's cameo was (he has a non-speaking cameo in each of his films). I looked it up and found this great site: http://hitchcock.tv/cam/cameos.html. Turns out he was walking out of the pet store as Tippi Hedren was walking in.

My favorite is the one in Lifeboat -- a very creative way to make it in since so much of the set and cast is limited by the situation.

Hey, when you say, "We were watching," does that include your lovely wife? Didn't you tell me she had never seen a Hitchcock film before?

No -- she was in the kitchen working on the lovely meal.

We are still working on exposing her to the films -- North by Northwest is in the Blockbuster Online queue.

The Clone Wars microseries Volume II has just completed. Volume I is available for purchase on DVD, but Hyperspace members get access to large size versions of the second installment, which completes today with episode 25. I am halfway through it (our download speed is not all it's cracked up to be) and the series is wonderful.

It has the humor and depth and interwoven storytelling that made the Original Trilogy such good stories. I hope Lucas took a lesson from these guys and told the story in a similar fashion.

Happy Day before Easter Day.

Click on the picture of Yoda to see our trip to NYC

Don't sue me, George -- I did alter the photo.

I spent most of yesterday cleaning, grocery shopping, and working on the site above. Today I will be grading papers and making the journey to Gainesville.

Watched "Shall We Dance" last night -- the Richard Gere/Susan Sarandon/J-Lo version. It was a sweet little film, and the Bobbie character was wonderful. The dancing was well-choreographed and Stanley Tucci was great as the nebbishy Astaire wannabe. Worth the rent.

I will send that one back to Blockbuster and maybe try to watch Angels in America.

Some great stuff on PlanetMagrathea.com about the upcoming Hitchhiker's film. April is a great month -- Tori on the first, Sin City that weekend, HHGTTG on the 29th, then 20 days until RoTS.

Hope everyone has a pleasant Good Friday and a nice weekend. I doubt I will be blogging again until Sunday evening, at which time I should have some more family-type-holiday-type-pictures. Without the green guy.

Six peeps. Really could use one extra day of vacation Fu. Getting off the computer now to get some work done Fu. Better get up early tomorrow to get more done Fu. Glad I have Monday before the students come back Fu.

Today was better on the health front, so we went on the Staten Island Ferry, bought CDs in the Village, saw the world's smallest dog park in Washington Square, saw Ground Zero, went up in the Empire State Builing, ate pizza in Times Square, saw teeny boppers go nuts for some hoochie on TRL, went in the biggest Toys R Us in the world and got a Darth Tater, had New York cheesecake and chicken soup with matzo, bought some nuts from a sidewalk vendor, and saw the Producers with Richard Kind. Today was a good day.

It was a sad day

I spent the day in major gastrointestinal distress, while my lovely wife went to the Natural History Museum and out to dinner. I am finally a little better, but here is the photographic evidence.

Hmmm...the Force appears to have no effect on getting the train here faster.

We arrived just fine, had a dandy dinner at a diner, and took a little tour of Grand Central Station late at night.

We are off to sightsee, and I am being admonished to get off the computer.

Later.
